The organization is a service organization which qualifies as a non-profit under the US law for charitable
organizations. It is non-political in nature and non-discriminatory. Over 50 committees are actively
engaged in projects such as American Heritage, American History, Americanism, American Indians, Conservation,
Commemorative Events, DAR Schools, Service for Veterans, DAR Project Patriot, National Defense, and many more.
Members, or Daughters as we call them, are actively engaged in the community performing a wide variety of works.
No matter where your talents, strengths, and interests lie, there is a DAR Committee tailored for you.
What a wonderful way to leave your mark in history! The National Society
offers an inquiry form that is given to the State Societies to administer. Fill out the Inquiry
Form and you will be contacted by one or more local chapters. The National Society
has verified the credentials of more than 850,000 Daughters since its founding in 1890. For a complete
